Although winter is still raging on, I am feeling ready for spring. I have been coming home from Trader Joe's with big bunches of tulips and daffodils. I've even been thinking about cleaning out closets, but all that will need to wait.
My first stop in spring cleaning and sprucing was to freshen things up here on Flock & Feast. I hadn't realized how neglected this space had been. That's about to change.
Over the past few months I have been thinking and praying a lot about what bring me joy. I've asked myself, "What I would like to do more of?", "How I can contribute?" "What am I good at?", "When do I feel God's pleasure as I use my gifts and talents?" and "Where my place is now that I am settling into our new life?". From this reflecting I have come up with two goals; I would like to be a better writer and I would like to know more about the Bible. I have thought about going to seminary, but for now I don't think I am ready to go back to school. Instead I would like to take on the challenge of being a serious student without being enrolled in a school. I like to think of this as the "Goodwill Hunting" path.
Flock & Feast is going to be the home of this endeavor. I'm planning on sharing how I am approaching studying, what questions I am asking, how I go about chasing answers, and the things I learn as I study. I can't promise that this will be quick but I'm hoping to check in a few times a week and to keep plugging along. If this is something you are interested in, I would love to have you join me.
