This is a list of the books and resources that I am using as I study the book of Leviticus.
This is a book that gets into the details of Leviticus and weaves together the context and understanding of Leviticus in the ancient world with the revelation of God's plan of salvation made complete through Jesus Christ. This book was recommended by the pastor of my church.
This is a scholarly book examining the book of Leviticus. It is one of a series that covers the entire Bible. This book was recommended by the pastor of my church.
This book looks at where the traditions and laws of the Old Testament as found in Leviticus rub up against the life and example of Jesus Christ. I think it will be helpful for me as I consider how to understand and live in the tension between holiness and mercy. This is a book that a friend recommended as I shared that I was going to study the book of Leviticus. It is a bit easier to read than the more text book like resources.
When living in Boston, my family and I attended Park Street Church and had the opportunity to learn from Daniel Harrell. We were attending the church when he and twenty members of our congregation decided to live by the rules of Leviticus. I wanted to reread and experience through their eyes what it was like to live according to the law. I plan to listen to his sermon series from this time on Park Street Church's sermon archives as well.
